Although not strictly related to design, this story focuses on who design is really for-humans relating to other humans.

The Syria supper club is a fundraising organization where Syrian refugees cook meals, and American families host the meals. Attendees pay $50 per person to attend the meals, which provides much needed funds for refugees, who often cannot find well paying jobs in the United States, despite their educational background or experience, their degrees are somehow not applicable here.

Great design does not always have to mean architecture, or graphic design, or technology. Great design can be found in food ,in companionship, in the sharing of meals and the welcoming of refugees and neighbors.
